Watching the Polls
Today is eerily quiet here at the office. We had lunch together as a group and distributed our BHAG gifts. We gave our entire staff Amazon Kindles in recognition for having a great month last month in October.
Whenever something big is happening it tends to distract people from the important work of planning vacations. I think that later this week or next week we'll see a rush of people booking trips. The same thing happened one time when the Dallas Mavericks made it farther in the NBA Finals than usual. People here in Dallas were completely distracted and it was dead here.
As soon as the Mavs lost, it picked right back up and made up for lost time. I think this time will be even more distinct because I think people are going to be feeling more stable and hopeful in general when the election is over.
