God Bless America

I flew down to Mexico from Dallas on Thursday morning. If you've ever been to DFW terminal D, then you know that arriving international passengers go through a glassed in elevated walkway that overlooks the departing passengers in the terminal below.

While I was standing in the gate area waiting to board, a plane full of soldiers arrived from overseas. Almost immediately the applause began. Within a few seconds, everyone in the entire terminal was on their feet, clapping for the arriving soldiers. The applause went on for almost 10 minutes, long enough for the entire planeload of soldiers to go from the airplane into the customs area.

I don't know if that happens every time or not, but it was great to be a part of.
