Bad Storms Last Night
This morning at about 3:45am we were awakened to the sound of the Civil Defense sirens. After confirming with the television that there really was reason for concern we woke up the kids and headed to the powder room downstairs (our safe room from tornados). We were in there about 20 minutes until the storm passed.
This morning when we walked the kids to school we found this:
This tree is on the side of campus that borders our home. It is probably about 30 yards from our back fence.
Then when I got to work I found this:
The roof tiles on our roof at the shopping center are scattered all over. The Albertsons shopping center across the street was even worse. They had the street closed in front of it and all of the light poles in the parking lot are on the ground.
There are also about 25 Verizon trucks parked across the street as though they are really busy restoring service. (Our T-1 is fine so our VoIP phone are fine too..I don't know if analog phone service is out in the area.)
